How do robot dogs, drones and wearable devices perceive their surroundings and make decisions in real time? At the D-ITET Project-based Learning Centre (PBL), we develop intelligent sensing systems and Edge AI technologies that bring perception and intelligence directly to devices.

At our booth, visitors can explore a robotic guide dog that uses advanced sensors and artificial intelligence to navigate autonomously and assist visually impaired people. A miniature autonomous drone demonstrates how on-board sensing and AI enable safe navigation without relying on external infrastructure.

Visitors will also discover smart wearable patches that continuously monitor health and environmental conditions while operating with extremely low power consumption. Through interactive demonstrations, we show how data from cameras, motion sensors, radar, and other sensing technologies can be processed directly on devices, reducing energy consumption, improving privacy, and enabling real-time responses.

A special exhibit compares conventional RGB cameras with innovative event-based cameras inspired by the human eye. Visitors can experience how these next-generation sensors capture motion with exceptional speed and efficiency, opening new possibilities for robotics, healthcare and autonomous systems.
